Dr. Li is the founder and director of the Future Sensing and Interaction Lab (FSI Lab). The lab develops trustworthy mobile, wearable, and AI-powered computing systems that improve healthcare, enhance cybersecurity, and enable secure human-device interaction. We combine innovations in sensing, machine learning, systems, signal processing, artificial intelligence, and security to build practical technologies that are accurate, scalable, privacy-preserving, and deployable in everyday environments. Our research spans the following core areas:

- Trustworthy Mobile Health and Healthcare Security: Developing accessible mobile and wearable systems for continuous health monitoring while ensuring security, privacy, robustness, and fairness. Our work spans physiological sensing, healthcare AI, privacy-preserving analytics, and secure clinical deployment.
- Secure Human-AI and Human-IoT Interaction: Designing intelligent systems that enable trustworthy interaction among humans, AI agents, and connected devices. Our research includes agentic prevention systems, AI-assisted cyber defense, trustworthy automation, and context-aware computing.
- Secure Intelligent Sensing and Computing: Developing robust sensing and intelligent computing systems that remain reliable under adversarial conditions. We integrate multimodal sensing, embedded AI, hardware and software co-design, and scalable security mechanisms for real-world deployment.
- Digital Media Authenticity and Watermarking: Building robust audio and video watermarking techniques to authenticate digital content, protect intellectual property, combat misinformation, and prevent AI-enabled scams while preserving media quality and usability.
